The National World War I Museum at Liberty Memorial

Museum Photo

On December 2, 2006, the National World War I Museum opened the window to an extraordinary emotional and intellectual experience. Envisioned by the people of Kansas City, designed by Ralph Appelbaum Associates, and designated by Congress as the nation’s official WWI Museum, the new state of the art complex at Liberty Memorial uses highly-interactive technology to bring history to life, and to foster timely discussions of ethics, values, decision making and conflict resolution. The Museum is open daily except Mondays, Thanksgiving, Christmas and New Years from 10 a.m. – 5 p.m.

Yes, we're still collecting! Donating WWI objects and documents.
The Museum has been collecting since 1920 and still actively collects objects and documents from all the belligerent countries in World War I. We are especially looking for German U-boat uniforms and other items. See also the want list under The Museum - Contribute to the Museum Collection bar to the left. If you have a potential donation or research questions, please contact Doran Cart, the museum curator, dcart@nwwone.org (816-784-1930) or Jonathan Casey, the museum archivist, jcasey@nwwone.org (816-784-1932).
